Description

The Last Music Store documents the curtains going down on the iconic Rhythm House.  Bombay city’s last & oldest large format music and video store finally yields to the challenges posed by new technologies and piracy and this crumble is captured via the lament of the store’s eccentric, long-dedicated, working inmates who are coping with the situation in their own manner.

Director's Bio

Megha Ramaswamy is a filmmaker & writer based in Bombay. Her films have traveled to several festivals in India & internationally, winning awards and top honors for their powerful storytelling and innovative technique. Megha’s banner, Missfit Films, is dedicated to producing films, which don’t necessarily subscribe to being independent or commercial. She co-hosts Cause Effect, a platform that produces cause oriented content & outreach programs. ‘The Last Music Store’ is telling of her attachment to Rhythm House, from where she has several additions to her music collection in varied formats.
