THE TIGER HUNTER is the story of Sami Malik, a young Indian who travels to 1970s America to become an engineer in order to impress his childhood crush and live up to the legacy of his father—a legendary tiger hunter back home. When Sami’s job falls through, he takes a low-end job and joins with a gang of oddball friends in hopes of convincing his childhood sweetheart that he’s far more successful than he truly is…or perhaps ever could be.

Director's Bio

Lena Khan is a writer and director in Los Angeles, CA. Lena graduated summa cum laude and received undergraduate degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles in Political Science and History, after which she went on to graduate from the prestigious UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television.

Since then, Lena has been directing short films, commercials and music videos for international artists. Her videos have placed in major festivals, broadcast on major network television channels across the world, and received over 30 million hits on YouTube. Lena has also gained experience working at noted production companies such as Participant Productions and she and her work have been featured in media outlets such as The Guardian, The New York Times, and USA Today. Lena brings her unique vision and witty sensibility to her first, award-winning film, THE TIGER HUNTER, and is now working on her next film and two television shows.

   In the grungy, cacophonous dressing room of a lower Mumbai theatre, Prahlad, a method actor, struggles to ‘get into character’. When Prahlad's make-up artist fails to appear, Sherry steps in as a replacement to work on the main, frustrated star. Forewarned that he could aggravate Prahlad, Sherry finds himself in the crossfire between Prahlad and the rest of the room -- a risk, that threatens not only to injure him, but turn him inside out, and relive a past so secret, it could only have hidden backstage.
