Description

Two kids, Shanu and Bua, aged 9 and 7 respectively, live in a chawl in Mumbai with their mother Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi though only 35 has seen the worst that life can have to offer. Though the milieu sounds sad but not the spirit of these kids. Bali Bhai, Vaishnavi’s brother-in- law lives in the same chawl and is the guardian for them in spirit; in kind he is helpless. Vaishnavi driven to the wall because of paucity of money asks Bali Bhai to get Shanu and Bua a job with him. Bali Bhai, a spot boy in the film industry knows the enormity of the task he is upto, but his sense of belonging to the kids is which makes him to take the kids to his film set. Though they do not get the job they get a shuttlecock. It is both the innocence of their age and the purpose they find in playing the game, which they saw the hero play, is what is the journey of the kids of the film. Their purpose of life is now to play CHIDIYA. How difficult can it be? But sometimes it is the most ordinary, which is the hardest to accomplish. Buying racquets, getting a net and most of all making a court in the chawl is what they are able to do but accomplishing every event is a story to be told in itself. When all falls in place destiny plays the spoilsport. WILL CHIDIYA FLY?
