Music Artists:
About Ginnger Shankar:
Ginnger is an extraordinarily gifted singer, virtuoso violinist, composer, model and songwriter, and was born into one of the world’s most acclaimed and influential musical families. Gingger's natural talents were nurtured from birth and flourished as she began to build her own identity in the world of music, embracing all of the genres and creative experiences that have shaped her life as an artist.
Gingger is the only female in the world that has mastered the 10-string Double Violin, an instrument that covers the entire range of the orchestra's double bass, cello, viola and violin, and of which there are currently only two in existence. Coupled with her voice, which covers five octaves, the sound is unparalleled, unbridled, and unforgettable. She is currently working on a full length album at Rukus Avenue.
About Elephants with Guns:
EWG collects music, sounds and noises from different parts of the world, wraps them in twine, and present them to you. Each member’s unique cultural and musical background leads to songs that fuse a mixture of different musical styles and genres.
Lead vocalist/flautist Maya Taylor, an East-Coast wanderer who recently moved to California, is a classically trained jazz musician who has studied music all over America and London.
Guitarist Jayson Joseph, who lived in India and Dubai before moving to America, plays rock and spanish riffs influenced by the Indian and Arab music he grew up listening to.
Bassist Sagar Chandrashekar, an American-born Indian, infuses the band’s music with his love of hip-hop and reggae.
Percussionist Omar Kazmi, born in Pakistan and inspired by Sufi and Kawali music, brings the band beats from all over the Arab and South Asian world.
These 4 musicians who started off from different parts of the world have found each other in Los Angeles, CA, and found a shared passion to create music that aims to entertain and enlighten. They are currently in the studios of Rukus Avenue Records recording their debut album.
